Annie Lucille (Gaither) Bowman
May 7, 1931 ~ January 18, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years OldBorn May 7, 1931, Annie Lucille Bowman, 85, of Greensboro, passed away peacefully from this world into Heaven on January 18, 2017 at Beacon Place Hospice and Palliative Care.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul Gaither and Frances Wood Vaughn, sister Frances Elizabeth Peoples, husbands Troy Parrish and Harland Bowman, daughter Betty Jane Parrish and son William Chester Gaither.
She is survived by son Jerry Lee Parrish, daughter Mary Elizabeth Hitchens, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Granddaughters include Katina Puckett, Tonya Hunt and Lucy Puckett. Grandsons include J.R. Puckett, Shannon Puckett and Duncan Gaither.
Lucille was a retired homemaker, having worked as a cook for many years, and was well known for her homemade biscuits. She was loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Tommy Dengate, fiancé of daughter Mary Hitchens loved Lucille and graciously helped care for her.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at George Brothers Funeral Home, located at 803 Greenhaven Drive in Greensboro, NC. Viewing will be at 11 a.m. before the memorial service. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery, located 3601 Whitehurst Road in Greensboro.
