Barbara “Bobbie” Ann Bramley Milligan, 76, of Greensboro NC, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Beacon Place.

A celebration of life service will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at George Brothers Funeral Service.

Barbara was born on January 13, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio.  When she was a teenager she moved with her sister and parents to Conyers, GA to live on a farm.  She shared lots of good memories and funny stories about the farm life.  She graduated from Rockdale County High School.  Barbara was married to the late Howard Phil Milligan, and moved to Miami, FL.  There she earned a teaching certificate and taught preschool before moving back to Georgia.  She truly enjoyed her family and dogs; Dora, Piper, Bonnie; and grand dog, Penny.  Barbara also enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, playing the piano, walking and kayaking.  She retired from Friendly Avenue Baptist Church after serving as the church secretary for over thirty years, as well as, worked part time in customer service at Sears and Roebuck for sixteen years.

First and foremost, Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother.  Her final days were spent surrounded by family who loved her dearly.  She will be deeply missed by friends and family and all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Matthew Bramley and Marjorie Doris Bramley; son, Matthew “Matt” Milligan; and daughter, Patricia Milligan.

She is survived by her sister, Jacque Stowers, and husband Ron; son, David Milligan (Thomas); daughters, Denise Southern (Mark), Tonia Coble (Terry), and Marjorie Day (Mark); six grandchildren; Tyler Coble (April), Jesica Coble, Madison Southern, Matthew Southern, Andrew Day (Kristyn), Jena Inscore (Justin); and two great-grandchildren, Dilyn Day and Jacob Inscore.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405; or SPCA of the Triad, 3163 Hines Chapel Road, Greensboro, NC 27405.
