Bobby Jack Poe, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Monday May 20, 2013 at Wesley Long Hospital.
A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 pm Thursday at Community Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty, NC.
Bobby was born August 22, 1939 , in Chatham county, to the late Jack and Lucy Kivett Poe. He was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church, and was a sales representative in the RV industry. He retired from the North Carolina Army National Guard.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a son Terry Lynn Poe, and sister Thelma Knight.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Carolyn Overman Poe of Greensboro; children Bobbie Marsh and husband Jaimie, Christi Tilley and husband David, Cary Poe and wife Laura; sister Joan Roberts. He was Paw-Paw Bob to Daniel Marsh and wife Tina, Ben Marsh, Hunter Tilley, Abigail Poe, Caroline Poe, Garrett Marsh, and Bailey Marsh.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at George Brothers Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Building Fund of Community Baptist Church 1330 Burnetts Chapel Rd. Greensboro, NC 27406.
