Carolyn Elizabeth (Hancock) Guffey

Carolyn Hancock Guffey, 83, of Greensboro died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Blumenthal Jewish Home.

Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.

The daughter of the late, Claude and Myrtle Hancock Carolyn was born May 12, 1932. She was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sally Burgess Sunday school class. Until her retirement, Carolyn worked as the office clerk and billing clerk for both, Dr. Carton Harris, MD and Dr. T. A. Brackbill, MD.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgebert J. Guffey, brother, Wade Hancock; sister, Margie Mendenhall; and twin sister, Catherine Hoover.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Claudene and Kevin Dixon; grandsons, Phillip and Stephen Dixon; sister, Shirley Hedrick; brother, Mahlon Hancock; good friends, Donna Fargis and Patty Miller; close cousin, Betty Ruth Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
