Emery Tucker, Sr.

Emery Gideon Tucker, Sr. 94, of Trinity died Friday, January 6, 2017 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Funeral will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 12, 2017 at George Brothers Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park with military honors.

Mr. Tucker was born February 3, 1922 to the late Leander and Emma Tucker. He proudly served with the United States Army during WWII where he earned the EAMET Campaign Medal, American Theatre Medal, Good Conduct Medal AR600-68, and the Victory Medal. He was an auto body repairman with several companies including Gate City Motors and delivered auto parts with Keystone Automotive.

Along with his parents, Mr. Tucker is preceded in death by his first wife, Dula Payne Tucker and his second wife, Viola Phillips Tucker; and his son, Emery Gideon Tucker, Jr.

He is survived by his son, Michael Everette Tucker of Greensboro; daughter, Cheryl Darlene Tucker of Trinity; grandchildren, Melissa Carol Tucker of Whitsett, Tammy Tucker Sweeney of Pleasant Garden, Christopher Michael Tucker of Greensboro, and Joseph Wade Gideon Tucker of New Mexico; great grandchildren, Brandon Sweeney and Nicholas Sweeney both of Pleasant Garden.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the funeral home and other times at the home of daughter, Cheryl Tucker.
