A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Monday at Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church.
Emily was born October 31, 1919, in Richmond, VA to the late Margaret Kuhn Oakley and L.J. Kuhn. She spent several years in Asheville but most of her life was spent in Greensboro. She graduated from Greensboro High School and attended the commercial class from UNCG. Emily is a member of West Market Street United Methodist Church and was married to the late Paul Transou.
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Godwin and Nancy Shirley both from Tarboro; her son, Thomas Transou of Greensboro; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation but the family will be receiving friends at Emily’s home, 3704 Wedgedale Place.
