Estelle Melinda (Jobe) Wood

Mrs. Estelle Melinda Jobe Wood, 86, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at George Brothers Funeral Service with Rev. Paul Ridolfi officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30-1:45 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wood was born June 18, 1931 in Guilford County to the late John Blake and Barbara Melinda Cobb Jobe. She graduated from McLeansville High School in 1949, retired from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and was a member of Vandalia Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, William Lester Wood, Jr. of the home; 2 sons, William Lester “Chuck” Wood, III of Locus, NC and Ronald Eugene Wood of Matthews, NC; 3 sisters, Ada Williams of Liberty, Betty Jean Rouse (Don) of Jamestown and Delsie Kilday (Tim) of Woodbridge, VA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; a special niece, Charlene Baldwin and numerous other nieces, nephews and family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
