Franklin Eli Staley

Mr. Franklin Eli Staley, 90, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 9, 2015 at George Brothers Funeral Service with Reverend Michael Barrett officiating.

Interment will follow in Gilmore Memorial Park.

Franklin was born March 26, 1925 in Guilford County to the late James Washington and Fannie Belle Coble Staley.  He retired from Guilford County Schools after 42 years of service and continued farming after his retirement in 1986.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife of 68 years, Margaret Jarrett Staley; a daughter, Shirley Ann Staley; a grandson, Robert Nicholaus Autrey; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Survivors include his 2 daughters, Linda Douglas of Jacksonville, NC, Vanessa Staley Anderson of Kentucky; 2 sons, Connie Staley (Cindy) of Liberty, Frank Staley, Jr. (Glenna); 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 4 nieces and 2 nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
