Geraldine Payne Lackey

Mrs. Geraldine Payne Lackey, 81, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 11, 2017.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at George Brothers Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00-1:45 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lackey was a lifelong resident of Greensboro and a longtime member of Florida Street Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for many years.  She worked as an office manager at the Speech & Hearing Clinic at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for over thirty years until she retired.  After relocating to Charlotte in 2010, she attended South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church with her family.

Survivors include her children, Clint Lackey and wife Leisa of Charlotte, and Greg Lackey and his wife Heather of Sarasota, Florida; and her grandchildren, Madison, Justin, Austin, and Jonathan Lackey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Marvin C. Lackey, Sr.
