Hilda Elizabeth Thornton Booth
Ringgold, VA - Hilda Thornton Booth departed this life on April 16, 2018 at her residence after
several years of declining health. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Hilda was born July 12, 1921 and lived her entire life on the family farm less than a mile from her birth place. She
was the daughter of the late Clyde and Hilda Thornton and was predeceased by her husband V.
Herman Booth. She was a member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by brothers Olin Thornton, George Thornton, Gene Thornton,Willie
Thornton, Lacey “Bub” Thornton, Tommy Thornton, sister Anna Thornton, sons-in-law James
Beggarly and Pete Morrisette, and grandson Alan Beggarly.
Survivors include her two daughters Joyce Morrisette of Kingsport,TN. and Lois Keller and
husband Beecher of Archdale, NC. Her two grandchildren, Larry Keller and wife Linnae of
Ringgold and Angie Esbenshade and husband Tom of Elizabethtown, PA, eight great
grandchildren, Joseph Keller and wife Jessica, Joshua Keller and wife Gabbie, Holly Keller,
Nathan Esbenshade, Noah Esbenshade, Katelyn Esbenshade, Jessiah Keller and Braden
Esbenshade and four great-great grandchildren Asher and Axel Keller, Addelyn and Lacey
Brown. Mrs. Booth is also survived by one sister Melba Collie and husband John of Ringgold.
A graveside service will be held at 4pm, on Friday in the Booth Family Cemetery, Kentuck, VA. The
family will receive friends at the family residence 7125 Kentuck Rd, Ringgold, VA.
The family suggests donations may be made to the Kentuck Vol. Fire Dept, 200 Ringgold Church Rd,
Ringgold VA 24586 or Laurel Grove Fire and Rescue PO Box 26, Sutherlin, VA 24594 or to
Hospice.
