James LeGrande Hicks, Jr.

James LeGrande Hicks was granted his Angel Wings on May 14th 2016. James was born on March, 08 1938, to the union of James LeGrande and Opal Ring Hicks in Alamance County, North Carolina.

James accepted Christ at an early age and was a former Pastor of the Nazarene Church.  He received his formal education in the AO or Altamahaw-Ossipee school system. After graduation, he entered the, United States Marine Corps. He served as a typist and was stationed in Hawaii.  James was a retired Pastor, Contractor along with many other endeavors. Above all he was our Father, Grand-Father, Brother and Son.  At the age of sixteen, he developed a love of aircraft, flying and excelled to a professional level. In 1978 he graduated from John Wesley College and answered his calling to share his love for Christ. 

James leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Debbie, James, Timmy and Amy; his sister Mollie; brother's John and Billy; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in the Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:00 pm, prior to the service in the Mausoleum Chapel.
