“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”

Jeffrey “Scott” Murray, 53, was beautifully healed at 1:00 a.m. on December 23, 2017.  In true Scotty fashion, just in time to set up the stage and get the sound board ready for the most epic Christmas Eve service on Sunday morning you could ever imagine.

Scott is survived by his wife, Jennifer Murray of the home; daughters, Ashley Murray Pendley and husband, Jeremy of Pleasant Garden, Shelby Murray and Kelley Murray both of the home; parents, Paul and Gloria Murray; brothers, Mike Murray (Orena) of Greensboro, Tom Murray (Janie) of Winston-Salem; sister, Leann Shoffner (Rick) of High Point; granddaughter, Avery Pendley; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

Scott was a pressman with Camera Graphics/Graphix Impact, which was his family’s printing business for many years.  His work cultivated his creative side which he used to enhance worship and build the Kingdom.

To those that knew him, he was the most humble, loving, caring and giving person in this world.  He exemplified Christ in everything he did.  He had a manner about him that would reach deep into your soul that made you want to be a better person.

Scott wanted a “God Story” and he felt his cancer diagnosis was a part of his story.  Scott would share about God and the great HOPE that we have when we trust God even in the storm of sickness.  He would share with all he met and encountered in his visits to the Cone Cancer Center.

His dear family, friends and church will miss him everyday, but will not take anything for this journey - a journey of love, pain, togetherness and most importantly victory.

A memorial celebration service for Scott will held on Sunday, December 31st at 3 p.m. at Hope River Church, 4355 High Rock Road, Gibsonville, NC. Visitation and reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hope River Church, Gibsonville, NC.
