Jimmy Lee "Tex" Harvey

Mr. Jimmy Lee “Tex” Harvey, 68, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at Beacon Place.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Concord Friends Meeting with Pastor Greg Creed officiating. Entombment will be Tuesday at 1:00 pm in Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Preacher Roy Tharington officiating.

Jimmy was born May 3, 1949 in Surry County to the late Jim and Mae Cockerham Harvey. He attended Concord Friends Meeting and retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after 35 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda and a daughter, Angela.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Hilda Ferguson Harvey of the home; 2 daughters, Shannon Harvey Player and Dawn Harvey Lowe (Ray) of Greensboro; and 2 grandchildren, Dylan Harvey and Avery Lowe.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concord Friends Meeting, Building Fund, 5000 Old Randleman Road, Greensboro, NC 27406.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of the staff on 6 East at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital and to the staff at Beacon Place for all of the love, care and support shown during Jimmy’s illness.
