Kenneth Gordon Peterson

Mr. Kenneth Gordon Peterson, 65, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, April 6, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at McLeansville Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member and former deacon. Rev. Jack Lemons and Rev. Nila Souther will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:-2:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Kenneth was born November 19, 1949 in Guilford County to the late Gordon Lafayette and Esther Payne Peterson. He worked for Rollins Body Works for 18 years prior to starting his own business, Peterson Collison Repair, which he owned and operated for 21 years. He retired in 2010 because of his declining heath.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Vicki Cantrell Peterson of the home; 3 children, Leigh Turley and husband Gary, Melanie Myers and Jason Peterson; 7 grandchildren, Austin and Logan Myers, Shelby and Samuel Turley and Jacob, Jeremy and Jenna Peterson; a brother, Ray Peterson; and a daughter-in-love, Jennifer Peterson Skeen.

He also leaves behind Thelma Lou, a boxer and most loyal companion, given to him as a pup from his wife.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Faye Hazelwood and a grandson, Noah Lee Turley.

The Lord blessed Kenneth with the ability to make, build, draw or repair almost anything. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved his Lord and Savior with all of his heart and wanted to serve Him daily.
