Max Mayberry
May 26, 2015Max Mayberry, 72, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at New Day the Church, 8610 Bame Road, Colfax. Burial will follow with military honors at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro.
Mr. Mayberry was born in Wilkes County to the late Leslie Vaughn Mayberry and Nellie Maye Mayberry. He was a Sergeant in the US Army, serving in the Vietnam War and was the recipient of a Bronze Star. Mr. Mayberry was retired from Golden State Foods after 25 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Mayberry; daughter, Annette Gray and husband Kenny; grandchildren, Jessica and Keegan Gray; brothers, Leslie Vaughn Mayberry, Jr. and James Neil Mayberry; sisters, Mary Souther, Bonnie McCluskey, Faye Covert, Jeane Bare, and Judy Gwen Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
