Mildred Lucille (Scott) Adams
February 21, 1928 ~ November 6, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years OldMildred Scott Adams (Mildred Lucille Scott), 89, passed away on November 6, 2017 at Hospice of the Piedmont. She was the widow of Ransom Welborn Adams, they shared 35 years of marriage together.
Born in Guilford County, NC she was the daughter of Jesse Grover Scott and Susan Alphatine Scott. She was employed as a telephone operator at Southern Bell and at the Dolly Madison bakery until the company moved in 1972.
She was a member of New Horizon Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her children: Jessie Smith (Wyndell), David Adams, Ronnie Adams Sr. (Debby), and Donna Henry. Her grandchildren: Frankie Sweeney (Tammy), Jeff Sweeney, Dwayne Sweeney, Wendy Harden (Josh), Ronnie Adams Jr. (Kristy), Amanda L.A. McCormick (Carla), Marion Cook (Gary), Kammi Dunn (Michael), and Kassi Henry. Her great grandchildren: Whitney Murphy (Mikey), Michelle Rye (Christopher), Brandon Sweeney, Nicholas Sweeney, Gracen Harden, Kadence Harden, Destiny Suggs, Briana Adams, Airon Adams, Chelsea Adams, Hunter Chandler, Kayla Chandler, Kayden Risner, Samantha Eisenger and Nikala Dunn. Her great great grandchildren: Ryley Bryant, Willow Bryant, Mica Murphy, Leah Murphy, Genesis Rye, Dillan Rye, Caroline Suggs, and Jacob Adams. She is pre-deceased by her sister Ruby Irene Long, her husband Ransom Adams, and her parents Jesse and Susan Scott.
A viewing will be held on November 8, 2017 from 7:00-9:00pm at George Brothers Funeral home; 803 Greenhaven Dr. Greensboro, NC 27406. A funeral service will be held on Thursday November 9, 2017 at 2pm at New Horizon Church of the Nazarene; 4221 Randlemam Rd. Greensboro, NC 27406. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Guilford Memorial Park; 6000 W. Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC 27407.
