Mildred Loftis May

Mildred Loftis May, 94, of Greensboro died Monday, January 16, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral will be 1:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Lebanon Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

She was the beloved wife of Henry Luther May for 75 years.  They were married on December 12, 1941, in York, SC.  They have five children, Frances Moore (Glen), Ronald (Becky), Donald (Linda), Phil ‘Skip’ (Carolyn) and Hal (Liz), ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. 

It was obvious how much she loved her family by the way she cared and cooked for them.  Even in her final days at the dinner table, she made sure her children had plenty of food on their plates.  She loved her time in the kitchen, enjoyed gardening both beautiful flowers and tasty vegetables to can, and visiting with her family and friends and she had many of both.  She was always ready with a warm smile and witty comment to make you feel welcome, comfortable and happy.  Her sense of humor will always be cherished.  She was a devoted member of Lebanon Baptist Church.  In her later years she made many comments that she missed being able to attend service each Sunday. 

The entire May family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation for all of the prayers, phone calls, food, words of comfort and assistance from our dear family and friends. 

The family will receive friends from 11-12:45 PM Thursday at the church prior to the service.
