Mr. Edgar "Red" Franklin Moore

Mr. Edgar “Red” F. Moore, Jr., 92, formerly of Greensboro, passed away Tuesday April 21, 2015 at The Stratford Retirement Center of High Point.

A graveside service will be 1:00 pm Saturday at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Brett Seawell officiating the service.

Red was a WWII Army veteran while serving from 1941-1945, and received the Purple Heart and the US Medal of Honor.  Out of 44 men, he was one of two survivors, who returned home. He was also a retired truck driver, and was a member of New Testament Baptist Church.

 He was preceded in death by his wife June Moore.

Mr. Moore is survived by his children Edgar “Frankie” Moore (Glenda) of Greensboro, and Rebecca Elaine Freeman of High Point; brother Milton Moore (Blanca) of Arcadia, FL.  Also surviving are three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
