Mrs. Iris Elizabeth (Oliver) Fields

Mrs. Iris Oliver Fields, 94, passed away Sunday August 23, 2015 at Wesley Long Hospital.

A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday at Rehobeth United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Fields was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Etta Oliver Circle, and the Etta Oliver Sunday School Class.  She was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Home Demonstration Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. Fred Fields; parents James Henry and Etta Clapp Oliver; sisters Bessie Spivey, Helen Harrison Venable, and Betty Jobe; brother Jay Oliver.

She is survived by her children Jackie Fields Hiatt of Ormond Beach, Fl., James “Jimmy” Fields, Jr. and wife Jean of Greensboro, Doug Fields of Charlotte and friend  JoAnne Hanel, and Dan Fields and wife Etta Mae of Randleman; sisters Ada Burge of High Point and Joan Fields of Greensboro; brother Bill Oliver and wife Jean of Greensboro.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at George Brothers Funeral Service, and other times the home of Dan Fields and wife Etta Mae.
