Richard "Rick" Waverly Flournoy, Sr.

Mr. Richard “Rick” Waverly Flournoy, Sr., 81, passed away Wednesday December 6, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House.

A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Rehobeth United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Marson officiating.  Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Flournoy was born October 24, 1936 in Guilford County to the late Wally and Ruth Rieves Flournoy. Rick was a US Army veteran, a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church and the Pleasant Garden Jaycees. He retired from Overnite Transportation Company and Engineered Steel Products.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Brown and a great granddaughter, Hadley Flournoy.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jacqueline Craven Flournoy; his two sons, Richard Waverly Flournoy, Jr. (Nancy) of Denton, and Tim Flournoy (Kristi) of Cary, IL; his grandchildren, Eric (Ashley), Ryan (Kelly), Madelyn, Aubrey and Caden Flournoy; great grandchildren, Jaycie, Davis, Addison and Lynnley; and a sister, Betty Overby (Decatur) of Monroe, GA.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rehobeth United Methodist Church, Family Life Center, 4475 Rehobeth Church Rd., Greensboro, NC 27406.
