Sandra G. McHone 64 came into this world full of life, energy and sass, which she made sure  to pass on through her strong DNA. Just as we are bestowed the gift of life, the day comes that we are asked to give it back. Thursday March 2nd 2017 was that day for Sandra after a brief but valiant struggle with cancer. Born and raised in Greensboro, NC she met and married the love of her life Roger in 1975. Although life wasn't always rainbows and unicorns, they dared to do what others wouldn't...to never give up! In their nearly 42 years together they raised 2 daughters and took faithful care of both her parents throughout their later years. They moved to Florida in 2002.

Her spirit will be carried on by her loving family. Roger D McHone, her affectionate and attentive husband of Port Richey, Fl. Two loving and high-spirited daughters, Tonya Michelle Talbert and her husband Charles of Lexington, NC and Bambi M. Johnson and her husband Matt of Greensboro, NC. She was also a proud and doting Nana to 3 grandchildren that will miss her terribly, Logan M. Hunter and Taylor M. Hunter of Lexington, NC and Lucas M. Johnson of Greensboro, NC. Her tremendous personality and generous heart will be remembered and forever cherished by her close circle of friends, coworkers and those she looked after as an administrative assistant for the past 11 years.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents Claude and Ruby Haithcock and by two older brothers, Elwood Watkins and Elva Haithcock.

A graveside service is planned for Thursday March 9th at 2pm. Family will receive visitors immediately following the service at the home of Pam Duggins (Sister-In-Law) 3805 Northgate Dr, Greensboro NC 27405. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Relay For Life in your area.
