Sharon Sue (Blackburn) Patillo
July 19, 1936 ~ June 25, 2015 (age 78) 78 Years OldSharon Sue Blackburn Patillo, of Greensboro died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Hospice of Greensboro’s Beacon Place.
Funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 27, 2015 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial following at Alamance Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Sharon was born July 19, 1936 to the late Noah H. and Ethel Truitt Blackburn in Guilford County. She married Thomas J. Patillo in 1961. She was employed with the local FOX affiliate, WGHP Channel 8. Sharon was also the organist for Good Hope Baptist Church in Greensboro.
Along with her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jay Patillo of Greensboro and a sister, Juanita B. Southard of Archer, Florida.
She is survived by her sister, Faith Blackburn Plyler and husband Richard of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; brother-in-law, Robert Patillo and wife Vickie of Greensboro, NC along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
