Shirley Ann (Collins) Ward

Mrs. Shirley C. Ward, 76, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 7, 2017 in Hyattsville, MD.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Westminster Gardens with Pastor Brett Seawell officiating.

Raised in Greensboro, she was a lifelong resident of Guilford County.  Shirley was a very caring person, always looking for ways to help others.  She loved nature, and loved caring for cats, ended up having five of her own.  Her family was the most important thing in her life.

Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie LeGrand Ward, Sr.; daughter, Deborah Williams; daughter, Patty Bailey; grandson, Donnie Ray Ward, Jr.; parents, David and Ruth Collins; sister, Betty Collins; and brother, Jimmy Ray Collins.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda Bohanon, Ronnie Ward, Jr., Lori Hammonds, Donnie Ward (and wife Pradab), Wanda K. Ward Martin (and husband Terry), and Ricky Ward; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends whom she loved. 

The family will meet with friends following the service at the graveside.
