Mr. Timothy Patrick Murphy, 52, formerly of Wilmington, went home to walk the Streets of Glory, with no more pain and suffering, on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Community Fellowship, 5204 Hilltop Rd, Greensboro, NC 27407, where he had been a member since 2009. Pastor Allen Barrette will be officiating.
Timothy was born April 24, 1959, in Neptune, NJ. He was employed by Grandover Resort since 2006, a Pop Warner football coach for 6 years and had a passion for his family and snowboarding.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Georgia Richards Murphy; a brother, Kelly Murphy and a great nephew, Kameron Marratta.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Lynn Ann Murphy of the home; daughter, Jamie Lee Godding of Wilmington, sons, Brian P. Murphy of Charlotte, and Kyle Daniel Murphy of Greensboro; a special companion, Bear Murphy; sister, Tami Stevens (Patrick), brothers, Shawn Murphy (Cheryl) and Kevin Murphy, all of Wilmington; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom he loved very much.
The family will have a celebration of Tim’s life from 3:00 to 5:00 pm Saturday, following the service at the residence.
Flowers will be accepted or donations made to The American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
