Veada (Hayes) Ingold

VEADA HAYES INGOLD, GREENSBORO – Veada Hayes Ingold, 91, of Greensboro, transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 19, 2016. Veada was born on May 28, 1925, in Wilkes County, NC. As a teenager, Veada moved to Greensboro where she later met and married Max Ingold, her husband of 61 years. She and her sisters, performing as the Hayes Sisters, sang gospel and inspiration songs at many of the radio stations and churches in and around Greensboro in the 1940’s. She was very proud of the fact that she was a founding member of Shining Light Baptist Church, which she attended faithfully. Veada was a devoted wife and mother and yard sale aficionado. Veada was preceded in death by her parents, Ella and Elihue Hayes; her husband, Max; daughter Barbara Jean; brother Estel; and sisters, Vecie, Maxie, Eula, Flossie, and Elmina. Veada is survived by her son, Rickey Ingold and wife Yvonne of Greensboro; brother Curtis Hayes of Greensboro; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Shining Light Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at 11:00 am at the church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. George Brothers Funeral Service will be assisting the family. We would like to thank the staff of Greenhaven Health & Rehabilitation Center and Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro for their generous and tender care of Veada during the final stages of her life.
