William A. Hefner
November 25, 1944 ~ August 4, 2016 (age 71) 71 Years OldWilliam “Bill” Hefner, 71, of McLeansville died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Stevens Memorial Baptist Church with burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Bill was a faithful member of Stevens Memorial Baptist Church where he served as music director and a deacon. He was also a gifted singer that shared his talent with several quartets including The Beacons and Redeemed Voices. Bill was retired with Duke Energy.
“Papa”, as Bill was known to his family, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a friend to many.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas A. Hefner and a sister, Belinda Hefner
Bill is survived by his wife, Ellen A. Hefner; daughter, Amy Hefner Walton and her husband, Scott; son, Rod Hefner; mother, Julia B. Hefner; grandchildren, Chris Jenkins and his wife, Stephanie and Amber Hefner Wray and her husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kaleb, and Brooklynn; and brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Anne Hefner.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 PM Monday, August 8, 2016 at George Brothers Funeral Service.
