William "Richard" Thomas Cox
August 3, 1947 ~ December 1, 2016 (age 69) 69 Years OldWilliam “Richard” Thomas Cox, 69, passed away Thursday morning, December 1, 2016, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Brightwood Christian Church with Rev. Fred Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
William was born August 3, 1947, in Rockingham County to Thomas and Dorothy Williams Cox.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Cox; his father, Thomas Cox; 3 children, David Cox (Dawn), Ricky Cox (Amy) and Barbara Apple (Eric); 3 brothers, Wayne Cox, Johnny Cox, and Phillip Cox; 2 sisters, Susie Blevins and Connie Loftis; grandchildren, Courtney (Aaron), Dylan, Whitney, Hannah, Lawson and Michael and great grandchild, Carter.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brightwood Christian Church, 300 Brightwood Church Road, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has helped during this time and especially to Sammy Allred for his help and friendship to Richard.
