Willie Mae (Wade) Horne

Mrs. Willie Mae Horne, 87 years old, passed away peacefully at her residence on September 21, 2016.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016, same date and time as her loving husband’s back in 2009, at 12:00 noon at United Institutional Baptist Church with Pastor Johnny Freeman officiating.

Willie Mae Horne was born June 9, 1929 in Alamance County to the late Roy Cornelius Wade and Willie Mae Wade.  Out of their union were seven daughters, Margaret Watkins, Dorothy Rankin, Francis Best, Celestine Murphy, Ada Blackmon, and Shirley Lorraine Wade.  Our dear mother was the last survivor.  In 1949 she married the love of her life, Charles Elmer Horne.  She was an active member of U.I.B.C. Senior Choir & Ward #2 until declining health.  She was a loving homemaker, interior in home decorator, and loved her family.

Mrs. Horne is survived by four children, Patricia H. McAdoo, Charles M. Horne (wife, Nancy), Wanda Beatty (husband, Ronald), and Sandra Horne (fiancé, Lawarren Ferree); sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
