Sunday, April 15th, surrounded by a room full of loved ones, Christina Louise Freeman Humble crossed to the other shore and Heaven received another Angel to add to its ranks. Today she is safe in the arms of Blessed Savior and greeting those who she loved who have gone on before with those famous hugs and kisses she was known for.
Born in Winston Salem, NC on December 14, 1975, to Johnny Mack Freeman and Judy Byrd Fowler, grandparents Thomas and Rose Freeman and George and Louise Byrd. She grew up in Kernersville, and lived for a short time in Greensboro, Colfax and Liberty. She went to East Forsyth High School in Winston Salem and worked for a time at Replacements, LTD. but was currently a stay at home mom, which she valued as her most important role and a great mother she was.
Chris resided at Humble Road in Liberty, NC and is survived by her devoted husband, soul mate, fishing and hunting buddy Chad Humble. Also Chris leaves behind three of her own sons and also fishing and hunting buddies; Dylan Cole Freeman, Marine Recruit from Parris Island, SC, Skylar Zane Fowler of Greensboro, and Austin Lee Humble from the home. Chris also had one step son, whom she loved as her own, Nathon Humble from Randleman, NC.
Chris is also survived by her mother and father Judy and Carl Fowler of McLeansville, her maternal grandmother Louise Byrd of High Point, sister Jennifer Coffer and brother-in-law John Coffer, nephews Jason and Jacob Coffer all of Kernersville; cousins Dana Packer (John) of Raleigh, NC; Justin Stainback of Greensboro, Jordan and Joshua Byrd of Colfax and JT and Mason Packer of Raleigh. Her favorite aunt, friend and confidant, Linda Stainback and uncle Kent Stainback. Stepfather Al (AB) Smith, Jr., mother-in-law Joanie Marshall, father-in-law and stepmother-in-law, Everette and Deborah Humble. Special friends include Frank Wright, Glen Fowler, Erin Cox, Jamie Lawson and Pam Kennedy.
Chris had too many friends to mention them all, but each and everyone was special and very important to Chris in their own way and she valued them immensely for the love and friendship they brought to her life. Even though her friends and family were many, she never gave less than all the love she had for each and everyone - always taking time for someone if they needed her.
She was predeceased by her father Johnny Freeman, paternal grandparents Thomas and Rose Freeman, and maternal grandfather George Byrd, uncles Mark, Victor and Roger Byrd and aunt Karen Byrd.
Chris will be remembered for her infamous bear hugs, that big beautiful smile, firecracker personality, and fearless attitude toward trying new things. She never met a stranger, held a grudge, and couldn’t bear it if she thought she had hurt or offended someone. Always an advocate for the less fortunate and the underdog.
Funeral arrangements are as follows: Visitation from 6:30-8:30p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at George Brothers Funeral Service at 803 Greenhaven Drive, Greensboro, NC with funeral service also at George Brothers Funeral Service on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 2:30p.m. with Pastor John Marks officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help the family cover the exorbitant medical and funeral expenses as the family struggles to deal with this unexpected loss. Donations can be made to http://www.giveforward.com under Christina Humble Family.
The family of Christina wishes to express our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude for the many prayers, visits, phone calls, face book messages, hugs and the contributions of refreshments at the hospital as we waited with Christina to make her final journey. To know how much she was loved by your many acts of kindness and care eases our pain, but is proof of how many lives she touched in her short years. Thank you and God Bless and Keep You.
