Mr. Robert “Bob” Calvin Fletcher, 86, passed away Thursday evening April 12, 2012 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 1:00 PM at George Brothers Funeral Service with Reverend Dr. Adrian Harris and Reverend Martin Paschal officiating. The family and friends will meet at the mausoleum at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2730 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston Salem at 3:00 PM for the graveside committal service.
Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James and Clara Mae Fletcher; and by his first wife, Dorothy Fletcher.
He proudly served in the Navy during WWII, serving aboard the U.S.S. Wesson DE 184. Bob was the founder of Southeastern Furniture in Greensboro, and loved the “sing-a-longs” with his wife Susan and their neighbor Phyllis Price at numerous nursing homes in the area.
Bob is survived by his wife of 10 years, Susan Fletcher; daughter, Sharon James, of Greensboro; son, Mike Fletcher (Debbie), of Greensboro; daughter, Lisa Flowers (Grady), of Asheville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Breeden, of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 PM on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family requests that no flowers be sent.
