Mrs. Elma Lee Hilliard, 88, of Greensboro, passed away June 1, 2012, at Clapps Assisted Living Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, at Rocky Knoll Baptist Church. The burial will follow at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hilliard was born January 3, 1924, in Chatham County. She was a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church where she served in the children’s department for many years. Elma enjoyed gardening, floral arranging and being a homemaker. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnis Hilliard and her sons, Roger and Jeffrey Hilliard, and eight brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Hilliard is survived by her daughters, Cindy Bodie (Darryl) of Pleasant Garden and Renee Foust (Kenneth) of Clemmons; daughter-in-law, JoLynn Hilliard of Climax; and sisters, Maxine Braswell of Liberty and Allene Brown of Chatham County. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, prior to the service.
