Susan Drake Cox, 67, of Reidsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2012, New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday at George Brothers Funeral Service with Reverend Tom Bowling and Reverend Milton Kennon Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park with Reverend Wayne Hall officiating.
Mrs. Cox was born September 5, 1944, in Guilford County to the late Charles Franklin Drake and Bobbie McGillis Drake. She is a member and the pianist of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Reidsville and was a former member and organist of New Life Baptist Chapel. She was active with the Rankin High School Class of ’62 and enjoyed getting together with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a pianist and vocalist with the Singing Cox Family and ministered in Southern Gospel Music for over 38 years.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her husband of 50 years, Reverend Wade Cox; her son, Johnnie Cox (Brenda) of McLeansville; her daughter, Sarah Hall (Wayne) of Wilmington; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren and 8 great great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at George Brothers Funeral Service.

Susan was a precious lady to everyone. I've met her several years ago. I call her daughter Sarah my aunt. Sarah and Wayne have known me ever since I was born. So you can say that we are family. Uncle Wayne and Aunt Sarah. Susan will be dearly missed. I guess Susan is my great-grandmother. Susan,you will be missed!!! We love and miss you so much!!!!!!! May you rest in paradise!!!!!! We will see you again someday when we all meet again in Heaven

Wade, Johnny, and Sarah, My thought and prayers are with you through this time. Suan was a great woman. She was the best friend of my Mom (Vera) She will be greatly missed.

Was so sorry for your loss , I know it is hard to understand but she is in a much better place than we are right now ! Susan was a great person to be around and had great love for life ! GOD BLESS ALL THE FAMILY AND OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU ALL !
