Mr. Jackie Wayne Payne

Jackie Wayne Payne, 66 of Liberty, NC gained his wings March 20, 2024, as Jesus opened His arms to welcome him to his pain free Heavenly home as he was surrounded by his wife and son after a long courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis lung disease.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 2:00 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service with Reverend Jimmy Bledsoe officiating.  Burial will follow at Grace Baptist Church.

He worked for Vertellus Chemical for 44 years until he retired.  In his spare time, he could be found with his family, derbing with his wife and son, tinkering on a car, slinging dirt on a racetrack, or building a rat rod truck.  Whenever you saw him, he always had a smile on his face or a helping hand to lend.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Lee Daniels; father, Curtis Payne; mother, Evelyn Williams; brother, Steve Morphis; along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Those left to cherish and carry on his memory are his best friend, soulmate, and wife of 43 years, Deborah Payne; his son, Charlie Payne; two grandchildren, David and Curtis Payne, all of the home; brother, Johnny Stovall (Teresa), of Mocksville, NC; sister, Kennie Wright, of Archdale, NC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and one special niece, Christy Morphis Hall (Chad), of Reidsville, NC.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Geroge Brothers Funeral Service.
