Mr. Brodie Joe Lyons, 87 passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at Hospice Home at High Point.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Hefner and Pastor Michael Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm, prior to the service at the church.
A native of Arkansas, Brodie was born April 14, 1931 to the late Joe and Mary Elizabeth Lyons. He was a veteran of the US Army serving his country during the Korean conflict and was retired from Klopman Mills. He loved gardening, fishing and Atlanta Braves baseball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Elmer, Clyde and Elton Lyons and 2 sisters, Hazel Lucas and Gladys Vore.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Barbara Jean Lyons; daughter, Laurie Combs (Lyn); grandson, Andy Combs (April); granddaughter, Melissa Reynolds (Dwain); great granddaughter, Ashley Combs and a sister, Mary Byers.
