Charles Grant Roberts, Sr.

Charles Grant Roberts, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on December 13th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. 

A celebration of life will be 2:00 PM Monday December 18th, 2017 at True Light Baptist Church, 3711 Flint Street, Greensboro, NC  27405, officiated by Scott Williard, Greg Cassidy and Brandon Gibson, Grandson.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Charles was a retired Boiler Maker with Local Union 30 and a retired Pastor who was a faithful servant to the Lord. He proudly served his country with the National Guard of the United States.

Charles was a beloved husband, father, Paw Paw and Paw.  Charles was born in Greensboro N.C. on April 14th, 1936 to the late Percy and Florence Roberts and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Yow Roberts; son Charles Roberts Jr.; and five siblings.   

 He is survived by his son, Bobby Roberts and wife Sandra; daughters, Linda Courtney and husband Bill and Sharon Edwards and husband Wayland; sister, Carolyn Warren; brothers, Richard Roberts, Doug Roberts and wife Gaye, Johnny Roberts and wife Glenda, David Roberts and wife Faye; eight grandsons; ten great grandsons; and one great granddaughter. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm – 1:45pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
