Charlie Hollandsworth, 81, died Sunday April 8, 2018 in Greensboro, NC.
He was born July 7, 1936 in Floyd County, Virginia to the late Haze Hollandsworth and Nettie Phillips Hollandsworth. Charlie retired from Cone Mills after many years of service in 1997. He was a member of Gate City Church of God. Charlie loved the mountains where he grew up, telling stories and reminiscing with family and friends, and watching westerns. Many also called him by his middle name Sylvian.
In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his wife, June Hollandsworth of 58 years and his twin daughters, Teresa Yvette and Teresa Yvonne, and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children Tim Hollandsworth and Terry Williams (Lauren and Autumn), Kevin Hollandsworth and Lisa Inman (Hanna), Scott Hollandsworth and wife Betty Jo, Tammy Gaydon and her husband Michael; granddaughter Brittany Hollandsworth, grandson Scottie Hollandsworth and wife Caroline, grandson Ryan Gaydon; and great-granddaughter Scarlett Hollandsworth; as well as two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday April 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. at George Brothers Funeral Service, 803 Greenhaven Drive, Greensboro, NC 27406. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
