Mr. Clarence Opal “Shorty” Mabe, 89 of Greensboro went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 20, 2018 at True Light Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Cassady officiating. Entombment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Clarence was born January 3, 1929 in Alleghany County. He faithfully attended True Light Baptist Church and retired from Talley Machinery Corp.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Jackie Mabe and three daughters, Betty Mabe, Brenda Rumley (John) and Becky Holland (Jeff). He was also “Pepaw” to three grandchildren, Jamie Stout (Rob), Morgan Payne (J.D.), Andrew Rumley (Jessica); a great grandson, A.J. Rumley, Jr. and special extended family, Lane, Stacy, Mckenzie and Bridget.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service and other times at the home of John and Brenda Rumley.
