Doris Ann (Whitfield) Gray

Mrs. Doris Ann Whitfield Gray, 76, of Liberty, passed away December 31, 2017, at Wesley Long Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m. Saturday at Tabernacle United Methodist Church with Reverend John Woods officiating. The burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Gray was born, March 8, 1941, in Person County. She was one of eleven children born to the late George and Hettie Whitfield. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and was retired from Guilford County Schools where she served many children through her work in the cafeteria.

 She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Mr. Henry Lee Gray.

Mrs. Gray is survived by her children, Randy Gray (Donna), Anita Layton (Howard), Kenny Gray (Annette), Donna McDaniel (Jody), Brent Gray (Meghan) and Trent Gray (Erika) and her eight grandchildren, Jadon, Jessica, Keegan, Hanna, Brock, Addison, Lucy and Valerie.

Mrs. Gray will lie in state at the church prior to the service and the family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
