Douglas Edward Tate

Mr. Douglas Edward Tate, age 84, passed away Monday September 25, 2017 at Beacon Place.

A native of Guilford county, Mr. Tate served his country from 1951-1956 in the United States Navy During the Korean war.

 Mr. Tate is preceded in death by his wife, June Tate with whom he was married for fifty-five years.

He is survived by his children Mike Tate (Ginnie) of Kernersville, Steve Tate (Kelly) of Charlotte, and Tim Tate of Greensboro; sister Carleen Monroe of Greensboro.  Also surviving are six grandchildren Josh Tate, Rebecca Huang and her husband, Esau, Stephen Tate and his wife, Robyn, Emily, Will, and Nick Tate; great-granddaughter, Savannah Huang; and cousins, Jeff Newnam and Elizabeth Caudle.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
