Ethan Chandler Mitchell

May 3, 2000 ~ December 26, 2018 (age 18)

Ethan Chandler Mitchell, age 18, crossed over December 26, 2018. This unexpected tragedy has left us at a loss for words. We mourn him every moment of every day.

Ethan was born May 3, 2000, in Greensboro, NC. He was a 2018 graduate of South Stokes High School.

Ethan was an amazing young man and overcame many obstacles in his life. He was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome at a young age. Always charismatic, his laugh would warm your heart and his smile would light up a room in such a way that you couldn’t help but like him. Ethan had a talent for photography, song writing and a passion for cooking. He envisioned becoming a chef and owning a food truck with dreams of living in the Big Apple. He also aspired to become a musician, he loved to sing and perform for his friends and family.

Beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend. He leaves behind his mother, Sheena H. Cox, and his “bonus” dad, John, of Walnut Cove; sisters Micaela Mitchell of Greensboro and Brynna Holbrook of Walnut Cove; step-brothers Jared and Jeremy Cox of Walnut Cove; grandparents Kathy and Fred Jarman of Greensboro; Cindy Holbrook of Jasper, FL; Richard and Patricia Cox of Sandy Ridge and Charlotte Cox of Eagle Springs, NC. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all loved him dearly.

Ethan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy Holbrook and half-sister Kayla Lineberry.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2018, at Covenant Church United Methodist, High Point, NC at 11:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon to follow.
