Mr. Glenn Harden, 80, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Tuesday evening, September 10, 2019 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Burnetts Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Ed Armfield officiating, along with Reverend Terry Bailey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Harden was preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Hilda Harden; and brothers, Donald, Claude, and Charles Harden; as well as his beloved dog,”Miss Allie”.
Glenn enjoyed bowling and was active in bowling leagues with Gilbarco and Travel League. He retired after 31 years of service with Gilbarco, and was a delivery driver for Sedgefield Florist. He was head trustee for Burnett’s Chapel United Methodist Church for years, was on the finance committee, sang in the choir, and was part of the Methodist Men. Prior to his illness, he was a Red Cross donor for many years.
Mr. Harden is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy “Jane” Harden; children, Glenda Waite (Grant), Shelby Parnell (Tim), and Vicky Canter (James); grandchildren, Angela Ambrose (Bryan), Holly Barua (Rahul), Andrew Bridges, Megan Parnell, and Kaylyn Canter; great-grandchild, Reagan Ambrose; brother Ralph Harden (Kathleen); sister, Bobbie Gardner; uncle, Grant Harden; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends whom he loved.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 pm at the church prior to the service.

The family would like to extend a very special and heartfelt “Thank You” to their neighbors, Richard and Sue Garrett for all of their love and support over the years; as well as Dr. Michael Wert, Tammy Parrett, NP, Dr. Traci Turner, and Dr. John Griffin and their staff.
