Iris Lee (Edwards) Clark

Iris Lee Clark, 76, of Greensboro, NC, passed away July 22, 2018 in her home, surrounded by her loved ones after a short battle with cancer. 

Graveside Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Guilford Memorial Park with Reverend Harold Shives officiating.

Iris was born in Greensboro, NC on April 14, 1942 to the late Clyde Edwards and Evon Sykes. She attended Sumner High School and worked five years with Western Electric before spending the next twenty-two years farming tobacco alongside of her husband. Her greatest accomplishment was centered around raising her children and watching her family grow. She was the queen of southern cooking and no one left her home hungry. Iris was a strong, independent woman and lead her family with grace. She greeted everyone with a smile and her hugs were a blanket of comfort. Her family finds peace knowing she is in the presence of the Lord and that they will see her again. 

Along with her parents, Iris is preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Clark.

She is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Thomas Gerald Clark of Greensboro, NC; children Dennis Byrd and wife Sharon Byrd, Phil Byrd and wife Pat Byrd, and Debbie Voss and husband David Voss; along with five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends for thirty minutes prior to the service at graveside.
