Miss Jasmine Shanice Goins, 21, of Greensboro, passed away February 22, 2014.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Thursday at East White Oak Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend B.W. Mittman and Reverend Kenneth Tatum officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:00pm.
Jazz was born September 18, 1992, in Greensboro, NC. She graduated from Independence High School in Charlotte, NC, where she was Captain of the Track and Field Team, member of the Pep Club and was a member of the Honor Society. Jazz was currently a sophomore and NC A&T University where she ran track her freshman year and was currently a member of the Aggies For Christ, Queen City Aggies and was manager of the men’s basketball team. She attended Life Restoration Ministries and was a member of East White Oak Missionary Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Melinda Goins and her father, Terry Johnson; step-mother, Janean Johnson; her siblings, Lauren, Mariah and Emily Johnson and Jonah Coble; great grandmother, Ms. Lottie Mae Watson; grandmothers, Loretta Johnson-Neal (John) and Cheryl Long (Billy); uncle, Kevin Johnson(Cynthia); aunts, Kelly Irving (Ron) and Crystal Hall (Cicero) and a host of other family and friends.
