Jodie Raquel Earnest

Mrs. Jodie Moore Earnest, 45, passed away at her home early Saturday morning June 16, 2018 with her family by her side.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, June22, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Church Street Baptist Church with Pastor Tyler Gaulden officiating.  There will be a private burial following the service at Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Church.

We are so thankful for our sweet Jodie and the 45 years she has given us.  She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend that was always full of life.  She poured her life into other people’s children and was incredibly selfless when doing so.  She always stood strong in her faith and praised Him in her daily walk.

Jodie was a graduate of UNCG and was very proud of her teaching position at Colfax Elementary School.  She was very creative, and enjoyed spending her time baking and working on different craft projects.  She loved to watch her son play baseball and was very active in the Mount Hope Baseball Organization.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Chris Earnest; children, C.J., Colby, and Kayden Earnest; parents, James and Joyce Moore; sister, Shelley Espe; brother, Jimmy Moore (Kristen); mother in law, Linda Earnest; sister in law, Lindsay Schmidt; brother in law, Ryan Earnest; nieces and nephews, Tiffany Garner, Katie Clark, Corey Engebretson, Nyla Moore, Cameron Moore, Devi Schmidt, Aria Schmidt, Michael Earnest, and Alex Earnest; her best friend since elementary school, Emilie Tyre; as well as a host of family and friends whom she loved.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the Church Street Baptist Church from 12:30-1:45 pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a monetary donation or a donation of teacher supplies to Colfax Elementary School in Jodie’s honor.
