Lawson “Buck” Crider, Jr., 85, of Browns Summit died Thursday, March 1, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.
Funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Mt. Hope Baptist Church with burial to follow at Midway Cemetery.
Lawson served proudly for twenty-seven years with the US Army and the National Guard and was a member of the local VFW. Lawson also worked with Cone Mills, White Oak Plant for many years. As a little boy, he delivered newspapers. He also enjoyed attending the heritage tractor shows.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawson and Eunice Crider; son, Lawson Eugene, granddaughter, Janice; and sister, Joyce Dalton.
Lawson is survived by his children, Bruce Wayne Crider (Patty) of Fries, VA; Judy Melville of Florence, SC; Nancy Tarlton (Tab) of Florence, SC; and Pamela Tucker of Reidsville; brothers, Buddy Crider (Reba), Howard Crider (Peggy), and Artie Crider (Judy) all of Browns Summit; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 Sunday at the church prior to the service.
