Leroy Mabes Obituary
Mr. Leroy “Buddy” Mabes, 70, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 10:00 am at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Brett Seawell officiating. Inurnment will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00 am at Overlook Cemetery in Eden, NC.
“Buddy” was preceded in death by his parents, James Homer and Frances Martin Mabes; and his nephew, Kris Purcell.
He served his country in the Army National Guard, and loved to play pool, fish, ride his motorcycle, and spend time with his nieces and nephews.
“Buddy” is survived by his sister, Becky Purcell; brothers, Jimmie “Stump” Mabes and David Michael Mabes (Nancy); nieces, Cheryl and Stacey; great nieces and nephews, Shea, Aaron, Matthew, Davis, Leah, and Mattie; great-great nieces and nephew, Emma, Vivian, and Maximus; as well as numerous family and friends whom he loved.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday following the service.
