Lydia Frances (Tally) Tart

Lydia Tally Tart, died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at her home.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Tony Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Mrs. Tart was born August 28, 1947 to the late William Clarence Gaines and Marjorie Tally Gaines.   She loved to read and shop, which she considered retail therapy.  Mrs. Tart attended Living Waters Baptist Church and was retired from Lincoln Financial after over 40 years of service.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Knox Tart; and siblings, Mark Gaines, Hal Gaines, and Gail Ashley.

Mrs. Tart is survived by her children; Seth (Amy) Tart, Rebecca (Joey) Martin, and Brent (Stephanie) Ashley; sisters, Kay (Robert) Keck, and Kathy Woody; brothers, Paul (Crystal) Gaines, Mike (Lisa) Gaines; and four grandchildren, Luke, Rachel, Chase and Coy.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
