Mr. JD Staley, age 67, passed away April 26, 2019 at Randolph Hospice Home in Asheboro.
A memorial gathering will be 6:00pm-8:00pm Monday, April 29, at George Brothers Funeral Service, with a private family burial at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ in Whitsett.
JD was born in Guilford county to the late Joe and Elizabeth “Lib” Shoffner Staley. He was a 1969 graduate of Southeast Senior High School, owner and president of HydraTec Inc. for the past 24 years, served in the National Guard for eight years, a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ, a member of the Triad Chevy Association, an avid car enthusiast, and had completely restored a 1968 and 1969 Camaro. He was a simple and hardworking man, who loved hanging out with life long friends, and new friends.
JD is survived by his wife Margie Staley of Randleman; children Tony Watts of McLeansville and Aaron Watts of Canton, Ohio; brother John Staley (Beverly) of Whitsett; sister Marie Linnens of Whitsett. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to JD’s parents, he was preceded in death by sister Betty Neese and her husband Jimmy Neese, and “Lucky” the best four-legged friend a man could have.
The family has requested memorials may be directed to Hospice of Randolph County, 446 Vison Dr. Asheboro, NC 27203 or to Mt. Hope United Church of Christ 2400 Mt. Hope Church Rd. Whitsett, NC 27377.
