Mr. William Floyd Leavel

Mr. William Floyd Leavel, age 95, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday November 21, 2017 at Friends Home at Guilford.

A memorial service will be 2:00pm Saturday at Trinity Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm Friday at the church.

Bill was born in Weyers Cave, Va. to the late Robert and Nora Bowman Leavel.  He moved to Greensboro where he became a charter member of Trinity Church. In 1926 he moved to Columbia, SC where he became Director of Food Services at Columbia International University and retired after 26 years of faithful service.  He then returned to Greensboro.

Mr. Leavel was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Catherine McMillan Leavel.

He is survived by his daughters Kay L. Miller (Larry) of Wildwood, Florida and Lisa L. Smith (Doug) of Columbia, South Carolina.  Also surviving are his grandsons Bryan P. Martin (Elizabeth), Christopher Miller (Jennifer), and Brian Miller; one great-grandson Wyatt Martin.
