Mrs. Janet Loraine Titus, age 84, passed away Tuesday August 7, 2018 at Morningview at Irving Park.
A memorial gathering will be Saturday, August 18, from 2:00pm-4:00pm at George Brothers Funeral Service where family and friends are invited to share favorite memories of Janet.
Mrs. Titus was born in Ecorse, Michigan to the late Herman and Nellie Baker Beausejour. She was a member of Barbeque Presbyterian Church in Sanford, NC, and volunteered with the Alamance Community College mentally handicapped adults and received the 2011 Volunteer of the Year in Burlington, NC.
Janet was a “Jill” of all trades: she could rewire a lamp, arrange flowers and then paint a portrait of them. She loved to travel and go on cruises. Her last cruise was to Cuba with her life long friend Rita Woods. She also loved golf, and shared that passion with her grandson, Maxim, who learned to golf with her clubs. Janet also had a great sense of humor, even to the end, and her granddaughter Josie kept Janet young with her equally quirky sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Major Paul Titus; children Daryl Titus and Lorrie Manoyian; brothers Richard Beausejour and Gary Michael Beausejour; sister Shirley Meade; granddaughter Ashley Titus.
Mrs. Titus is survived by her children Robert Titus of Largo, Florida, Diana Standow (Pete) of Largo, Florida, and Karen Markovics of Greensboro; sister Gail Fodo (Frank) of Michigan; brother Ronald Francis Beausejour (Susan) of Michigan; special loved ones Alfonz Markovics and Katea and Joannie Walsh. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge her caregivers for the love and care shown to her: Penny Alford- mom’s side kick since October, and Shaneka Lee and Megan Turner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405.
